DRS90THE STANDARDHARD NO TECH
HARD NO TECH.
No phone in your pocket.
No phone in a pouch.
No phone in our cloakroom.
NO DEVICE. NO STORAGE. NO ENTRY.
Leave the digital world at home.
THE RULESWHAT DOES NOT ENTER
WHAT DOES NOT ENTER.
Hard No Tech is deliberately stricter than "phone-free". A phone locked in a pouch is still a phone inside the experience. A phone hidden inside a stored coat or bag is still being stored by the event. Hard No Tech means the attendee enters without the prohibited personal technology.

ZERO STORAGENO CLOAKROOM LOOPHOLE
ZERO STORAGE MEANS ZERO STORAGE.
- DRS90 does not accept phones or prohibited devices for safekeeping.
- Prohibited technology cannot be hidden inside a coat or bag placed in the cloakroom.
- Sealed phone pouches do not meet the Hard No Tech standard.
- Attendees must understand the rule before travelling to the event.
- If someone arrives carrying prohibited technology, normal entry cannot proceed unless they remove it from the DRS90 environment themselves.
FUTURE TICKET RULEBEFORE TICKET SALES
UNDERSTAND THE RULES BEFORE YOU BUY.
Before buying a ticket, attendees will have to confirm that they understand the Hard No Tech rules.
If someone arrives carrying a prohibited device and cannot comply with the rules, they will not be admitted. This applies whether the device was brought knowingly or forgotten in a pocket, coat or bag.
The intended policy is that tickets will not be refunded when entry is refused because an attendee has not followed the Hard No Tech rules.

WHY SO STRICTAVAILABILITY
BECAUSE AVAILABILITY CHANGES THE EXPERIENCE.
EXPERIENCE A
CHOOSING NOT TO LOOK AT A PHONE.
EXPERIENCE B
KNOWING THE PHONE IS NOT AVAILABLE TO YOU AT ALL.
DRS90 is interested in the second experience. Hard No Tech exists to create a genuinely different environment, not simply encourage better phone habits.
SEE THE EXPERIMENT →OPERATIONAL TECHNOLOGYSAFETY
WHAT TECHNOLOGY CAN EXIST?
Hard No Tech does not mean unsafe or technically primitive events. Necessary operational technology may be used by:
SECURITY
MEDICAL TEAMS
PRODUCTION STAFF
VENUE OPERATIONS
AUTHORISED EVENT PERSONNEL
AUTHORISED PROFESSIONAL DOCUMENTATION WHERE EXPLICITLY DISCLOSED
NO-TECH DOES NOT MEAN NO SAFETY.
Accessibility and genuine medical requirements will need carefully designed policies, developed before the first event.
PLANNED STANDARDFUTURE FREE USE
THE HARD NO TECH STANDARD
We’re developing a defined set of rules for Hard No Tech events and venues. We plan to seek trade mark protection for the name and make it free to use for organisations that follow the standard.
That means no device storage, including phones left in pouches, coats or bags. Use of the Hard No Tech name would depend on following the rules.
